The MEATER family brings professional precision to your indoor kitchen and outdoor barbecue with 100% wireless probes, algorithms that predict cooking and resting time, and an app that guides every step. From the Plus model for everyday use to Pro, Pro Duo, Block and Pro XL for ambitious cooks, you’ll have stable control of the inside of the piece and the environment of the cooking equipment, both in slow sessions and direct fire searing.

🔩 Materials and construction

MEATER probes are designed for intensive use, with a compact body that facilitates insertion and protects the reading electronics. Depending on the variation, they integrate dual or multi-sensor sensors to simultaneously measure the core of the piece and the firing environment, with designs that prioritise thermal stability and durability of the assembly. In the Pro range, a seal is added to enable more demanding cleaning and uses such as frying or sous-vide.

Connectivity and range

The Plus incorporates a Bluetooth repeater in the charger that extends the range up to 50m, ideal for moving freely while the grilling progresses. The WiFi Mode versions carry the signal throughout the house and allow you to monitor your cooking from other devices via the brand’s ecosystem. Pro adds long-range Bluetooth 5.2 Coded PHY, providing a more robust link in environments with interference. Block can work in standalone mode without a smartphone when you want to focus only on the grill.

🔥 Thermal performance

In Plus and Block, each probe combines an internal sensor (up to 100°C) and an ambient sensor (up to 275°C), perfect for ovens, smokers and closed barbecues. The Pro, Pro Duo and Pro XL ranges raise the bar: they support ambient up to 550 °C and allow the probe to be left in place during direct heat sealing, with an internal limit of 105 °C (Duo/XL). This thermal range translates into better developed crusts with no loss of dot control.

🧠 Intelligence and guidance

The Guided Cook System accompanies you every step of the way with preparation, cooking and resting recommendations, while the Advanced Estimator Algorithm calculates how long it will take to reach doneness and how long the piece needs to rest. Personalised alerts let you know when to remove, when to change zones and when to ring the bell to eat. The experience is clear, even for first-timers, and customisable for those who have mastered it.

🎨 Design and user experience

The loading and control stations are designed to be integrated into the worktop or work surface, with visible indicators and direct operation. In Block, the block itself acts as a control centre, allowing you to cook without relying on your mobile phone. The probe insertion is intuitive and the app interface is user-friendly, with pre-configured cooking profiles and options for advanced cooks.

🧩 Compatibilities and included accessories

The MEATER family is suitable for gas or charcoal barbecues, domestic ovens and smokers, and in the Pro range it extends the spectrum to frying and sous-vide thanks to its watertightness. Block includes four probe clips for attachment and stable reading; WiFi Mode bases allow for extended home coverage; and USB-C versions facilitate modern power supply.

🍳 Benefits for different cooking styles

On the barbecue, MEATER helps you to nail the point of briskets, ribs and bone-in cuts by controlling room temperature peaks and valleys. In outdoor cooking, it allows you to combine direct and indirect zones with precision. In indoor cooking, it standardises roasts, baked fish and whole poultry, freeing you to prepare side dishes. And with Pro/Pro Duo/Pro XL, you can sear over flames without removing the probe, maintaining control of the interior.

🛡️ Safety and ease of use

Alerts prevent overcooking and algorithms reduce human error. The hardware is set to work within its thermal limits safely and predictably. The app allows you to set temperature or time-based alerts, reduce service stress and ensure adequate rests.

💧 Cleanliness and resistance

In Pro the probe is watertight and dishwasher safe, so you can go from frying to deep cleaning without worry. In all other variations, the probe is cleaned using conventional methods, taking care not to subject bases and chargers to moisture or immersion.

🔋 Power and charging

Plus recharges in its base with built-in repeater. Pro features fast charging: a few minutes are enough for a long cooking time. Pro Duo and Pro XL are powered by USB-C for continuous use, while Block can be powered by Micro-USB when you don’t want to rely on batteries, bearing in mind that this port does not recharge AA.

🧪 Accuracy and calibration (Pro range)

Pro comes with three-point calibrated sensors with a claimed accuracy of ±0.1°C and individual calibration certificate. In practice, this means more repeatable firing points and less variability between sessions.

🎛️ Multi-tasking control and scalability

With Block you can manage several parts at once from the block itself. Pro Duo doubles the control capacity with two probes and up to six sensors per probe, ideal for whole birds with areas of varying thermal inertia. Pro XL quadruples the instrumentation for large BBQs or XXL roasts with WiFi coverage.

🌍 Applications outside the grill

In addition to grilling and baking, Pro supports deep frying and sous-vide cooking thanks to its airtightness. It is also useful in domestic batch-cooking for repeating menus with the same point day after day.

Use and Maintenance

This Use and Maintenance plan is designed to help you get the most out of your MEATER from day one and for many cooking cycles. It brings together best practices and nuances for different models (Plus, Pro, Pro Duo, Block and Pro XL) so you can obtain reliable readings, extend the life of your equipment and maintain food safety. The idea is simple: prepare well, place better and take care afterwards. If you follow these steps, your results will be more consistent, repeatable and safe.

Preparation and synchronisation (step by step)

  1. Charge or feed the base/station corresponding to your variation before each session.
  2. Wake up the probe by removing it from the base and check that the battery indicator is sufficient for the entire cooking process.
  3. Pair with the app and assign a name to the probe (or to each probe) to easily identify it when working with several pieces.
  4. Set the target: type of meat, cut and desired doneness. Activate alerts for internal temperature and, if necessary, for time or ambient temperature.
  5. Check the range where you are going to cook. If you change location (patio → kitchen), check the connection again before closing the lid/door.
  6. Plan your workflow: where to sear, where to cook indirectly, where to rest. Having a clear plan avoids sudden movements with the probe inserted.

Reliable placement and reading

  1. Insert the probe straight into the thickest part, avoiding bone and cartilage, as these materials deflect or cool the reading.
  2. Respect the safety mark on the probe to ensure that the internal sensor is completely inside the piece.
  3. Let the end be exposed to the air (outside the meat) and without touching the rack or tray, to measure the environment correctly.
  4. Avoid repeated piercing: if you need to reposition, do so quickly and decisively to avoid opening unnecessary juice channels.
  5. Order of heater: if you are going to sear first and finish indirectly, make sure that the model you have chosen can withstand the type of heat (see ‘Notes on variations’).

Heat management (barbecue, oven and smoker)

  1. Stabilise the environment before inserting the piece: clean grill, fuel ready and draught regulated.
  2. Use zones: direct for crusting/sealing and indirect zone for controlled internal cooking; alternate as indicated by the alerts.
  3. Avoid constant opening: each time you open the lid, the heat curve drops; rely on the ambient reading to know when to act.
  4. Protect from extreme radiant heat by placing the piece with the ambient sensor away from flames or visible heating elements if your model is not designed for direct fire.

Cleaning

  1. Let the probe cool for a few minutes after removing it from the piece; cleaning when extremely hot shortens its useful life.
  2. Remove fresh residues with a soft cloth or non-abrasive scouring pad and a drop of neutral detergent.
  3. In the Pro range, the probe is waterproof and dishwasher safe. Place it on the top shelf and dry it thoroughly before storing.
  4. Other models: clean by hand; do not immerse bases or chargers.
  5. Avoid harsh chemicals (bleach, acids, abrasives) and scratching utensils; the smooth surface promotes stable readings.

Battery care and charging

  1. Plus: store the probe in its base between uses to keep it charged and use the repeater when cooking away from your phone.
  2. Pro: features fast charging; a short charge lasts for long cooking sessions. Use it if you have an unexpected barbecue.
  3. Pro Duo / Pro XL: USB-C power supply; ideal for long sessions or multitasking with multiple probes.
  4. Block: can be powered by Micro-USB when you don't want to rely on AA batteries. Remember that this port does not recharge AA batteries.
  5. Best practices: keep the equipment dry, with no stress on the contacts and away from direct heat or constant humidity.

Storage and thermal safety

  1. Everything in its place: return each probe to its slot/base to protect the tip and sensors.
  2. Respect the limits of the internal and ambient temperature of your variation (see Specifications) to avoid damage.
  3. Safe transport: avoid knocks, twisting or pressure on the tip. If you are travelling with the equipment, use a hard or padded case.

App maintenance and alerts

  1. Keep the app updated to benefit from stability improvements and new features.
  2. Check the predefined alerts before each session; adjust remove, rest and serve alerts to suit your cooking style.
  3. Name your probes (by cut or grill position) to avoid cross-reading when working with several pieces.

Food safety (good practices)

  1. Hygiene before and after handling raw meat; wash your hands and utensils.
  2. Avoid cross-contamination: use separate cutting boards and knives for raw and cooked food.
  3. Respect resting times: they are part of the process; they lock in juices and stabilise the internal temperature.
  4. Refrigeration: if you are not serving immediately, cool and store according to food safety guidelines.

Quick diagnosis (if something is wrong)

  1. Range: move the base closer to the equipment or change its location if you notice signal interruptions; on WiFi models, activate it for greater coverage.
  2. Erratic reading: check that the tip is not touching bone or the grill and that the ambient sensor is not in direct contact with a flame or heating element.
  3. Unusual curves: check the ventilation, smoke extractor and fuel load; the environment is as important as the interior.
  4. Accuracy: if you suspect deviations in the Pro range, remember that each unit is calibrated; check the insertion technique before questioning the sensor.
