The TravelQ Warming Rack is the ideal accessory for those who want to take their outdoor cooking experience to the next level. Designed specifically for Napoleon TravelQ™ barbecues, this premium stainless steel warming rack not only expands the cooking area by an additional 419 cm², but also offers versatile functionality that adapts to both direct cooking and food warming, without compromising access or convenience.
Smart Cooking Space Expansion
Maximise your culinary performance without taking up more physical space.
With this rack, it is possible to prepare multiple dishes simultaneously, ideal for family barbecues, gatherings with friends or outdoor events. By utilising the heat that accumulates at the top of the lid, you can cook or keep side dishes such as rolls, vegetables or pre-cooked foods warm without fear of burning them.
Sturdy and Durable Construction in Premium Stainless Steel
Designed to last and withstand wear and tear.
The choice of premium stainless steel guarantees resistance to corrosion, high temperatures and outdoor conditions. This grill is perfect for those who use their barbecue intensively, as it stands the test of time without losing efficiency or aesthetics. In addition, its smooth surface facilitates quick cleaning, without complications or residue build-up.
Much More Than Just a Heater
Take advantage of its multifaceted functionality.
Thanks to its elevated position and ergonomic design, you can cook delicate foods such as vegetables, potatoes en papillote, sandwiches or even small desserts. This area benefits from gentler, more even heat, perfect for achieving ideal textures without the risk of overcooking.
Foldable Hinge Design
Convenience without sacrificing functionality.
One of its biggest benefits is its hinge design, which allows the rack to be tilted back when not in use. This allows you to work freely with the main grill, move food, add charcoal or make adjustments without anything getting in the way. Ideal for maintaining a constant flow during cooking.
Versatility Beyond Barbecuing
Also useful in non-traditional settings.
Although created for TravelQ™ barbecues, this rack can also be used in conventional cookers, ovens or buffet systems to keep food warm or gently cook certain ingredients. Perfect for events, catering or celebrations where keeping food at the right temperature is key.
Maintenance and Care for a Long Service Life
Keep your grill looking like new with an effective and simple maintenance routine.
The
Extra TravelQ Grill, being made of premium stainless steel, already offers natural resistance to corrosion and wear. However, its constant exposure to high temperatures, grease and external environmental conditions requires specific care to prolong its service life and ensure optimal performance. Proper maintenance not only extends the durability of the grill, but also preserves cooking hygiene, food flavour and safety during use.
Maintenance steps:
- Cleaning after each use – The first step towards durability:Once you have finished cooking, wait for the grill to cool down and then clean it with a soft bristle brush or a non-abrasive sponge. Use hot water and mild detergent to remove food or grease residue. If the grease is stuck on, you can let the grill soak for a few minutes. Never use metal scouring pads or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the protective layer of the stainless steel.
- Prevent grease build-up – Clean cooker, healthy grill: Burnt organic residues not only damage the surface over time, but can also generate unpleasant odours and affect the taste of future dishes. Use a silicone spatula or paper towel to remove debris before it cools completely.
- Thorough drying – Corrosion prevention: Although stainless steel is rust-resistant, prolonged moisture can cause stains. Carefully dry the grill with a microfibre or cotton cloth, making sure to reach the inner areas of the hinges. This simple step is key to maintaining its shiny appearance.
- Protected storage – Safety during downtime: If you are not going to use the grill for several days or during the winter, it is best to store it in a dry, ventilated place, preferably inside a waterproof protective cover. If it remains installed on the barbecue, cover the entire unit with a barbecue cover to prevent the accumulation of dust, pollen or environmental moisture.
- Regular hinge check – Smoothness and functionality guaranteed:The grill hinges allow it to be folded down for full access to the main grill. To keep this mechanism working properly, inspect it monthly. If you notice resistance or squeaking, apply a drop of food-grade lubricant or light mineral oil to the hinge pin and move the part several times until it works smoothly.
- Seasonal maintenance – Deep clean twice a year: At least every six months, perform a more thorough cleaning. Remove the grill, clean it with a mixture of hot water, bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar to remove any stubborn grease build-up. Rinse thoroughly and dry before reinstalling.
- Avoid sudden temperature changes – Preserve the structure: Do not cool the grill abruptly with water while it is still hot. Thermal shocks can deform or weaken the steel over time.
TravelQ-Style BBQ Chicken Sandwich Recipe
These gourmet sandwiches are an excellent choice for any outdoor gathering. Thanks to the gentle, even heat of the
top grill of the Napoleon TravelQ, you can prepare crispy bread, cheese that is perfectly covered and keep the ingredients at the ideal temperature without the risk of burning. They are quick to make, easy to customise and delicious from the first bite.
Ingredients (serves 4):
- 2 barbecued chicken breasts (can be leftovers from the day before)
- 4 ciabatta, rustic or focaccia buns, cut in half
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 4 leaves of romaine lettuce or escarole
- 8 thin slices of ripe tomato
- 8 slices of aged cheddar cheese or fresh mozzarella
- 4 tablespoons of sweet or smoky BBQ sauce (to taste)
- 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter or ghee
- Optional: sliced jalapeños, gherkins, old-fashioned mustard, or sliced avocado
Preparation steps:
- Chicken preparation: If not already cooked, grill the chicken breasts on the main grill of the TravelQ with salt, pepper, and a little oil. Once cooked, cut them into thin strips and mix them with the BBQ sauce. For an extra touch, you can sear them slightly in a frying pan or on the same grill to caramelise the sauce.
- Prepare the bread: Cut the rolls in half and spread a thin layer of butter on the inside. This will help achieve even searing and a slight toasted flavour when heated on the top rack.
- Use the warming rack: Place the bread halves on the TravelQ Extra Grill, with the inside facing down. Use the closed lid to maintain a controlled temperature. Indirect heat will achieve perfect searing without burning the bread.
- Assembling the sandwich:Remove the bread bases when they are browned. Place the hot chicken and cheese on top. Return them to the rack to melt the cheese. On the top of the rack, you can keep the cooked ingredients warm while you assemble the rest.
- Add fresh vegetables: Once the cheese has covered, remove from the heat and add tomato, red onion and lettuce. You can also add mustard or avocado according to your preference.
- Presentation: Serve each sandwich cut in half, accompanied by homemade crisps or fresh salad. You can stick in a decorative toothpick to give it a professional touch.
