The Krafted™ Sauce Dispenser with Brush – Kamado Joe combines in a single accessory the container and brush you need to prepare and apply butters, sauces and glazes whilst you cook. A practical solution both for use at the barbecue and for preparing sauces in the kitchen.

Its 1-litre capacity allows you to prepare a generous amount without having to constantly top it up, whilst the integrated brush keeps the sauce and the application tool together at all times whilst cooking.

What’s more, it’s designed to support you throughout the whole process: heating the sauce, applying it to the food, storing any leftovers and making cleaning up a breeze when you’re done.

Sauces ready by the grill

Salsera con Pincel Krafted Kamado Joe junto a la barbacoa

With a 1-litre capacity, this sauce pot is designed to prepare melted butter and sauces in sufficient quantities to see you through a whole barbecue session.

Having the sauce ready right next to the grill makes it easy to apply at just the right moment, without having to keep moving back and forth between the cooking area and the kitchen.

It’s also useful for glazes, liquid marinades or mixtures that you want to add little by little whilst monitoring the food’s doneness.

Brush integrated into the lid

The silicone brush integrated into the lid allows you to move straight from preparing the sauce to applying it directly to the food without having to look for an additional utensil.

This combination helps keep everything organised around the cooking area and allows you to put the brush back into the container when you need to reload it.

It’s particularly handy when you want to apply several layers of sauce or glaze whilst cooking and need to keep the brush close at hand.

Store leftover sauce

The airtight seal is designed to keep any sauces you haven’t used during cooking fresh in the fridge.

This means you can prepare the amount you need and store the leftovers in the same container, avoiding the need to transfer them straight away to another container.

It’s a particularly handy solution when you prepare sauces or mixtures in advance and want to have them ready for your next cooking session.

Comfortable grip near the heat

The ergonomic silicone grips on the handle provide a comfortable and secure grip for handling the sauce boat around the barbecue.

This feature makes it easy to move the container, position it where it’s most convenient and keep it steady whilst loading the brush with sauce.

The design is intended to make the container easy to handle whilst cooking, when you need to switch between monitoring the food and applying the sauce.

Kamado Joe’s Krafted™ design

The sauce pot is part of the Krafted™ range and features recognisable Kamado Joe elements, such as the characteristic dimpled finish and red accents.

The result is an accessory that maintains an aesthetic consistent with the rest of the collection’s utensils, whilst prioritising its function around the barbecue.

You can use it on its own or combine it with other Krafted™ utensils to maintain a consistent workflow during preparation and serving.

Up to 120 °C on the barbecue

The container is designed to withstand temperatures of up to 120 °C, allowing it to be used directly on the grill within that limit.

You can melt butter or keep a sauce warm close to the food and apply it at just the right moment, without needing a separate container away from the barbecue.

This is particularly handy for glazes and sauces that you want to keep runny as the different stages of cooking progress.

Straight into the dishwasher

After cooking, cleaning doesn’t have to be another time-consuming chore: the Krafted™ Sauce Boat with Brush is fully dishwasher-safe.

This makes it easy to remove any traces of butter, sauce or glaze from both the container and the application tools after each use.

Once clean, it’s ready to be used again for your next cooking session, whether by the barbecue or indoors.

Before first use

  1. Wash the basting pot, lid and brush before using them for the first time.
  2. Check that the container, handle, lid and brush are correctly fitted and show no visible damage.
  3. Keep the container's temperature limit in mind: it must not exceed 120 °C.

During use on the barbecue

Using the Kamado Joe Krafted Basting Pot with Brush on the barbecue

  4. Hold and move the basting pot using the silicone grip areas on the handle.

After cooking

  1. Remove the basting pot from the cooking area once you have finished using it.
  2. Allow the container to cool before cleaning it or handling it for any length of time.

Grilled salmon with honey and mustard glaze

A recipe designed to make the most of the Kamado Joe Krafted™ Basting Pot with Brush: prepare the glaze directly in the pot, keep it fluid beside the barbecue and apply several layers to the salmon during the final minutes of cooking.

Ingredients

  • 1 salmon fillet weighing approximately 800 g–1 kg
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Salt, if required
  • Lemon and fresh herbs to finish, optional

1. Prepare the glaze

Add the honey, mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice and garlic to the Krafted™ Basting Pot with Brush. Mix until you have a smooth sauce. You can place the basting pot on the cooking grate over moderate heat to help the honey combine with the other ingredients and make the glaze more fluid, while always respecting the basting pot's 120 °C temperature limit.

2. Prepare the salmon

Pat the surface of the salmon lightly dry and season it with black pepper. Take care with the salt, as the soy sauce already provides plenty of seasoning. Leave the fillet whole for juicier cooking and a broad surface over which to apply the glaze.

3. Cook over indirect heat

Prepare the barbecue for indirect cooking at around 180–200 °C. Place the salmon skin-side down and close the lid. Cook until the fish begins to colour and is approaching your preferred level of doneness.

4. Apply the glaze in several layers

During the final stage of cooking, load the integrated silicone brush directly from the basting pot and spread a thin layer of glaze over the entire surface of the salmon. Close the barbecue for a few minutes and brush it again. Repeat the process two or three times to build up a glossy coating and concentrate the flavour without soaking the fish all at once.

5. Remove and rest

Remove the salmon when it reaches your preferred level of doneness and leave it to rest for a few minutes before serving. Finish with a few drops of lemon juice and, if you like, some fresh herbs.

The role of the basting pot

In this recipe, the advantage lies in keeping the glaze prepared, fluid and close to the cooking area. The integrated brush allows you to apply successive layers without changing containers or looking for another utensil, exactly the type of use Kamado Joe shows with salmon in the product's official gallery.
