The Krafted™ Spatula – Kamado Joe is a tool designed for those who enjoy barbecuing with precision, comfort and high-quality materials. Its design combines a wide blade, a long, well-balanced handle and a finish that’s instantly recognisable within the Kamado Joe range, making cooking, turning and serving more comfortable every time you use it.

More than just a conventional spatula, it’s designed to help you handle generous cuts with confidence, work safely close to the heat and simplify cleaning up after cooking. All this is achieved through a robust construction made from Krafted™ stainless steel, ready to accompany you both outdoors and in indoor kitchens where you also need a sturdy and practical tool.

Krafted™ stainless steel to accompany you through every cook

This spatula is made from high-strength Krafted™ stainless steel, a choice that provides a solid feel in the hand and a tool designed to last. From the very first use, it conveys the robustness expected of a utensil designed for cooking over an open flame, embers and high-performance grills.

It’s not just another accessory, but a reliable everyday tool. If you use your barbecue regularly and value a utensil that feels firm, stable and ready for continuous use, this construction makes all the difference, whether you’re cooking or serving.

Spacious surface for handling large cuts with confidence

One of its key strengths is its large turning surface measuring 10 x 11.4 cm, designed to provide generous support beneath the food. This helps you lift, turn and reposition larger pieces with a greater sense of control – something particularly useful when working with substantial burgers, thick steaks, fish or grilled chicken.

This larger base makes movements more stable and natural. In practice, this means less uncertainty when handling delicate or heavy food, and a more comfortable cooking experience when you want to work decisively without losing precision.

Integrated cutting edge for precise separating and serving

The spatula features an integrated cutting edge that extends its uses beyond simply turning food. Thanks to this detail, you can separate tender meat more easily, loosen stuck-on bits with greater precision, or use it to help with serving when you need a clean, comfortable motion.

This little functional extra is particularly handy when you’re cooking directly on the grill and don’t want to keep switching between different utensils. It’s a very well-thought-out solution for those who value versatile, well-designed tools capable of adapting to the actual pace of cooking.

Ergonomic, well-balanced handle for comfortable cooking

Kamado Joe has designed this spatula with an ergonomic, balanced handle to ensure it’s comfortable to use, even during long cooking sessions. When you’re spending time at the barbecue, you can really feel that balance in your hand, and it helps every movement feel more natural, without feeling clunky or cumbersome.

As well as comfort, this design allows for better control during everyday tasks: lifting, turning, repositioning or serving. It’s precisely this sort of detail that makes a tool perform well, not just on paper, but also when you’re actually using it throughout a full barbecue session.

A safe length for working close to the heat

With a total length of 45.75 cm and a handle measuring 34.25 cm, this spatula is designed to help you work at a more comfortable distance from the heat source. That extra reach is particularly welcome when cooking over intense embers or when you need to reposition food without getting too close.

It’s not just about safety, but also about confidence whilst cooking. By maintaining a suitable distance from the heat, you can focus better on the cooking temperature and handling the food, working with a tool that promotes control without forcing you to venture into the hot zone any more than necessary.

Kamado Joe design and hook to keep it within easy reach

The spatula features the characteristic Kamado Joe dimples and the iconic red accent, two elements that give it a highly recognisable look in keeping with the brand’s personality. It’s not just about aesthetics: it conveys a sense of care and consistency with the rest of the accessories designed to elevate your barbecuing experience to a more premium level.

Added to this is a very practical hanging hook, ideal for storing it neatly and keeping it within easy reach between uses. It’s a simple detail, but very useful when you want to keep your workspace organised and your tools ready for the next batch of cooking.

Dishwasher-safe for hassle-free cleaning

After cooking, one of its most practical advantages comes into play: it’s fully dishwasher-safe. This makes day-to-day maintenance much easier and makes it a very convenient option for those who use the barbecue frequently and prefer a quick clean, without compromising on a high-quality tool.

This ease of cleaning fits in very well with the product’s overall approach: delivering performance on the grill and convenience off it. So, you can focus on cooking and enjoying yourself, knowing that tidying up will be much easier once the session is over.

Before first use

Before using it for the first time, check that the Kamado Joe Krafted™ Spatula is clean and in good condition. As this utensil will come into direct contact with food, it is advisable to clean it before you start cooking.

During cooking

Slide the blade fully underneath the food before lifting it. Its 10 × 11.4 cm turning surface provides a broad base for handling larger pieces and making the movement more stable.

The 34.25 cm handle allows you to work while maintaining a comfortable distance from the heat. Its ergonomic, balanced design is intended to provide control even during longer cooking sessions.

When you need to separate tender meat on the cooking grate, you can use the spatula's integrated cutting edge.

After cooking

Once cooking is complete, remove any food residue remaining on the blade before cleaning it. This makes washing easier and helps keep the surface ready for the next use.

Cleaning

Kamado Joe confirms that the Krafted™ Spatula is fully dishwasher safe, so it can be cleaned this way after use.

This feature makes maintenance particularly convenient when the spatula is used frequently, helping to keep cleaning from becoming an additional task after each barbecue.

Maintenance

The heavy-duty Krafted™ stainless-steel construction is designed to provide long-lasting performance. Before each use, simply check visually that the blade, cutting edge and handle are in suitable condition and that no residue remains from the previous cooking session.

Storage

Once clean, store the spatula ready for its next use. The hook integrated into the end of the handle allows it to be hung alongside other utensils and helps keep the cooking area organised.

As well as making storage easier, this solution keeps the tool easy to locate and access the next time you light the barbecue.

Spiced grilled chicken thighs

A simple recipe designed to make use of the broad surface of the Kamado Joe Krafted™ Spatula when lifting, turning and removing pieces of chicken from the cooking grate without piercing the meat.

Grilled chicken thighs being handled with a Kamado Joe spatula

Servings: 4 people

Preparation: 15 minutes + 30 minutes marinating

Cooking time: approximately 25–35 minutes

Internal temperature: at least 74 °C in the thickest part of the chicken.

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken thighs
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ lemon

Method

  1. Prepare the chicken. Pat the thighs dry with kitchen paper. Mix the oil with the paprika, garlic, onion, oregano, pepper and salt. Coat all the pieces thoroughly and leave them to rest for around 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Kamado Joe. Stabilise the barbecue at around 190–200 °C. Allow the cooking grate to heat up before adding the chicken.
  3. Start cooking. Place the chicken thighs on the cooking grate with space between them and allow them to begin browning without moving them constantly.
  4. Turn the pieces. Slide the Kamado Joe Krafted™ Spatula fully underneath each chicken thigh before lifting it. Its 10 × 11.4 cm surface helps support larger pieces while you turn them on the cooking grate.
  5. Finish cooking. Cook until the outside is well browned and the centre reaches at least 74 °C. If any piece is browning too quickly, move it to a less intense area of the cooking grate.
  6. Rest and serve. Remove the chicken with the spatula, leave it to rest for around 5 minutes and finish with a few drops of lemon juice before serving.

Tip: slide the entire blade underneath the chicken thigh before turning it. This provides greater support and reduces the risk of breaking the browned surface as you lift it from the cooking grate.
