Weber Grill Academy 8kg Mix Pellets are designed for barbecue enthusiasts who are looking for an authentic, natural flavour in their food. These pellets, made from a careful blend of cherry, maple and beech, offer an exceptional cooking experience without the presence of additives.

Perfect Blend of Woods for a Balanced Flavour

This blend contains 25% cherry, 25% maple and 50% beech, creating a balanced and versatile flavour profile. Cherry adds a sweet, fruity touch, perfect for enhancing the flavour of red meats and poultry, while maple adds a smooth, slightly caramelised note that complements more delicate flavours, such as fish and seafood. Finally, beech, with its soft, neutral flavour, balances the blend, allowing the natural flavours of the food to take centre stage. This combination of woods not only enhances the flavour of the food, but also helps to achieve even and consistent cooking, maintaining the desired moisture and texture in each dish.

Suitable for all types of food

With a medium flavour intensity, these pellets are ideal for a wide range of culinary applications. From juicy meats such as veal, poultry such as chicken and turkey, to cuts of pork, lamb and game meats, the pellets provide a subtle smokiness that enhances flavour without overpowering. And their use is not limited to meats; they are excellent for cooking fish and seafood, where the delicacy of the smoky flavour can complement the natural flavours of the sea without overwhelming them. They are also ideal for roasting vegetables, infusing them with a light woody aroma that enhances their natural sweetness, and for baking pizzas and baked goods, adding a rustic and authentic touch to every bite.

Certified Sustainable Product

Weber’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in every step of the production of these pellets. Manufactured in the European Union, the pellets use responsibly sourced wood, guaranteed by FSC® certification (FSC® MIX), which ensures that forest health is maintained and biodiversity is protected. Furthermore, these pellets are carbon neutral, which means that during their entire life cycle, from production to use, they do not contribute to carbon dioxide emissions in the atmosphere. This is a key point for environmentally conscious consumers who want to reduce their carbon footprint and support sustainable practices in their cooking and consumption habits.

Easy to Use and No Additives

Grill Academy Mix Pellets come in an 8kg box designed to be practical and easy to handle. The easy-to-pour box makes it easy to refill barbecues and smokers without mess and hassle. Each pellet is 100% natural, with no additives, oils, or chemical agents that could alter the natural flavour of the food or pose a health risk. This purist approach ensures that each prepared meal has the authentic flavour of wood-fired food, without interference or artificial flavours. Plastic-free packaging is not only an environmentally friendly option, but also reflects Weber’s commitment to quality and food safety, ensuring that the pellets remain in optimum condition until they are used.

Compatible with different Pellet Barbecues

The versatility of the Pellets Mix Grill Academy extends to its compatibility with different types of pellet barbecues. Although designed specifically for Weber SmokeFire barbecues, these pellets can also be used with any other wood pellet barbecue, making them a flexible option for grill enthusiasts. This means that no matter what type or brand of barbecue you own, you can enjoy the taste and quality that Weber pellets offer. This broad compatibility ensures that users don’t have to limit their purchasing options to a specific brand, allowing them to experiment and enjoy a variety of outdoor cooking equipment.

High Quality Dimensions and Composition

Grill Academy Mix Pellets come in an 8kg box, with dimensions of 40cm high x 30cm wide x 15cm deep, making them easy to store and transport. The manufacture of these pellets from high quality woods, such as beech (Fagus sylvatica), cherry (Cerasus Mill) and maple (Acer platanoides), all sourced from Poland, ensures that each pellet maintains optimum consistency and quality for even cooking. This rigorous quality control during the manufacturing process means that the pellets burn evenly, providing constant heat and consistent smoke, which is crucial for perfect cooking results every time.

Ideal for a variety of uses in Conventional Kitchens

As well as being ideal for outdoor barbecues and smokers, Pellets Mezcla Grill Academy Pellets are also an excellent choice for use in conventional kitchens with wood-fired ovens or indoor smokers. This makes them a versatile tool for chefs and cooking enthusiasts who want to infuse their dishes with an authentic wood-fired flavour without the need for specialised outdoor equipment. Pellets can be used to smoke meats, fish, vegetables, and even to add a special touch to home-baked breads and pizzas. This versatility expands the culinary possibilities, allowing users to experiment with different cooking techniques and recipes that make the most of the rich wood-fired flavour.

Enjoy a delicious homemade pizza with an authentic wood-fired flavour using the Pellets Mezcla Grill Academy. This easy-to-follow recipe will guide you step-by-step to create a grilled pizza with a unique and delicious taste.

Ingredients

For the pizza dough:

  • 500 g wheat flour
  • 325 ml lukewarm water
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet dry yeast (7 g)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the tomato sauce:

  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (400 g)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Suggested toppings:

  • 200 g fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 100 g pepperoni, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 10-15 fresh basil leaves
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the pizza dough

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the bowl with the flour.
  4. Mix well to form a dough, then knead for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and leave to rest in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until the dough has doubled in size.

Step 2: Prepare the tomato sauce

  1. In a medium frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper and oregano. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the sauce thickens. Set aside.

Step 3: Prepare the grill with the Grill Academy Mix Pellets

  1. Fill the pellet box of your barbecue with the Pellets Mix Grill Academy.
  2. Turn on the barbecue and set the temperature to 220°C (428°F).
  3. Close the lid and let the pellets burn until the barbecue reaches the desired temperature, ensuring a balanced woody flavour.

Step 4: Assemble and cook the pizza

  1. Divide the dough into 2-3 portions according to the size of pizzas you want. Roll out each portion on a floured surface into a circle about 0.5 cm thick.
  2. Place the pizza base on a pizza tray or pizza stone, if you have one.
  3. Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce over the pizza base.
  4. Add the toppings: spread the mozzarella slices, pepperoni, peppers and onion evenly across the pizza.
  5. Place the pizza on the preheated grill. Cook with the lid closed for 10-12 minutes, or until the base is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is bubbling and golden brown.

Step 5: Serve the pizza

  1. Carefully remove the pizza from the grill and transfer to a cutting board.
  2. Add the fresh basil leaves and drizzle with a little olive oil.
  3. Slice into wedges and serve hot.

Additional tips

  • Variety of toppings: Customise your pizza by adding other toppings such as mushrooms, black olives, ham, or pineapple.
  • Even cooking: Make sure the barbecue maintains a constant temperature for even cooking. If you notice that one side of the pizza is cooking faster, turn it halfway through the cooking time.
  • Homemade dough: If you prefer a quicker option, you can use pre-made pizza dough, but homemade dough always adds a special touch.

With these steps, you can enjoy an authentic grilled pizza, with an exquisite wood-fired flavour provided by the Pellets Mezcla Grill Academy – perfect for sharing with family and friends on a barbecue afternoon!
